Now in its FOURTH year, the hugely successful Alternative Ascot Day Lunch will once again be held in The Voltigeur Suite, York Racecourse on Thursday 17 June 2010.
This is a fantastic opportunity to escape the usual weekly routine and indulge in a decadent afternoon of fun and entertainment. Whilst this is not an actual raceday at York, and you won't be able to see the horses and their jockies, you will enjoy all the fun of the races. Dress in your finery, watch live coverage from the BBC, see all the latest fashions from Royal Ascot and cheer your favourite horse on, while indulging in a delicious lunch and afternoon tea with your friends.
Set in the appropriate setting of York Racecourse, you and your guests will enjoy a drink's reception and delicious 3 course lunch and coffee. Racing live from Royal Ascot will be shown on numerous televisions and fun betting will be available. Luxury raffle, silent auction and prize for Best Dressed Lady can be enjoyed and guests will be served tea and scones before departing. If there are any spare moments you can also spend time browsing our exclusive boutique shops.
This event is organised by KAREvents and held in aid of Action Medical Research (AMR) a charity dedicated to building a better, healthier future for everyone. AMR is a leading independent medical research charity specialising in children’s health. For almost 60 years they have touched the lives of many thousands of families in the UK. Over the last 3 years, the Alternative Ascot Day Lunch has raised nearly £5000 for this very worthwhile charity. Visit www.action.org.uk for further information.
